In planning
for your SharePoint deployment you’ll need to consider where you’ll host your
setup. Is it going to be hosted on-premise (in your local data center or server
room) or in the Cloud?
As you
consider whether to go for a hosted (the Cloud) or an on-premise solution or
even a hybrid of the two, it’s important to first assess your company’s
business needs, infrastructure and more importantly seek a keen understanding
of each solution.
To get you

which vividly shows the Cloud’s service models and how they contrast with each
other and with on-premise hosting:

Computing Service Models are:
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Software as a Service (Saas)
